The information we collect and how we use it
At no point will you be asked to register your personal details with OKIDO other than at the purchase point in the online store.
Other than during the payment process within the OKIDO online store, we never insist on you giving us your email address. If you offer us your email address and have not opted in to our newsletters we will store and use this information:
-to respond to your emails, submissions, questions, comments, requests, and complaints and provide customer service;
-to provide our services or information you request, and to process and complete any transactions;
- to send you confirmations, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages and otherwise facilitate your use of, and our administration and operation of, our services.
-Internal record keeping.
If you have additionally opted in to our newsletter services we will use your information to:
-To send you newsletters.
-To occasionally send promotional emails about products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting.
Name and Postal address
We never ask for your name or postal address other than at the purchase point in the online store.The purpose of this is to send you magazine and products and to provide our services or information you request, and to process and complete any transactions;
We will not provide your details to third parties other than in relation to processing your order.
An exception to this rule is that of competitions and prizes. Should you be lucky enough to win something from a third party through a competition on our website, in our magazine or across our social media platforms then we will inform them of your address for prizes to be sent out to.
Please note that to complete your order we will process your data in conjunction with the following 3rd parties: Intermedia, Stripe, PayPal, MailChimp, Facebook, Woocommerce and QuickBooks. These service providers are working with us in connection with the operation of our site or our services (these service providers have access to your personal information only to perform services on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose it or use it for any other purposes).
Lawful basis for processing data
We will only ever contact you if you have offered us your email address. Since you have taken active steps to engage with our brand then we continue to process your data for legitimate interests. This means that only individuals who have actively consented, or are engaged with our process will receive OKIDO updates. If you are a magazine subscriber, you will not be targeted with marketing Emails if you have not signed up to our newsletter. You may be contacted occasionally for transactional purposes only.
Should you decide not to renew your subscription and you are not subscribed to our mailing list, your data will be deleted completely from our system within one month of your final payment. If you have signed up to our newsletter you will be removed from our mailing list 3 years after your final payment if you do not interact further with us.
-we may share aggregated information and non-identifiable information with third parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling and other similar purposes;
-when you give us your consent to do so, including if we notify you that the information you provide will be shared in a particular manner and you provide such information;
-when we believe in good faith that we are lawfully authorized or required to do so or that doing so is reasonably necessary or appropriate to comply with the law or legal processes or respond to lawful requests or legal authorities, including responding to lawful subpoenas, warrants or court orders;
in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition, or in any other situation where personal information may be disclosed or transferred as one of our business assets.
We will not sell or lease your personal information to any other third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
Your Data rights as our customers
As our customers you have the following data rights with respect to your personal data: The right to be informed; the right of access; the right to rectification; the right to erasure; the right to restrict processing; the right to data portability; the right to object; and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making including profiling. Our Data retention periods
Your data will be deleted from our system if are not subscribed to any of our services and do not open any Emails sent by us for 3 years. The purpose of us having your data on our system is to ensure that we are keeping you up to data with the information you have requested and a product you are interested in. These data retention periods exist to to ensure we are only sending information to people who want to here from us. This is in line with the ICO’s guidelines that ‘Personal data processed for any purpose or purposes shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose or those purposes.’ You will be informed of our intention to delete you from the database 1 month prior to deletion with the option to re-sign in.
Your security and protection
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure,we have put in place various security procedures in relation to the personal data process including the use of fire walls, limited access, use of passwords and our own internal procedures which cover the storage, access and disclosure of your information.
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information in an effort to prevent loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Please be aware, however, that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

If you purchase anything from us we use secure third party services to collect your payment, protect your credit card information and assist your shopping experience.

In conjunction with Google we will also collect remarketing tags in conjunction with google to offer tailored advertising after visiting the site.
