IMAGINE 09: Children's Literacy Festival. Running from Thursday 12th February-Sunday 8th March on the Southbank. Imagine is the UK's brightest and best children's literature festival. Imagine 2009 features readings, storytelling, poetry, exhibitions, dance and music across Southbank Centre. There is a special installation, free performances and workshops on The Clore Ballroom in Royal Festival Hall. Thinking of something fun, free and imaginative to do with your kids in London this half term? This is it!

Colourscape Music Festival on Clapham Common

Sept 13th to 21st



Our largest and most established festival in our largest Festival One structure - the world's largest Colourscape.



Weekend performances of the latest developments in contemporary music - this year featuring new or unusual instruments - Alphorns - Gongs - Batphones - Crumhorns.



PLUS the third Eye Music commission under the Rawsthorn Award.



Saturday September 13th - Horses Brawl and Tristram Cary Memorial concert Horses Brawl play contemporary music on old instruments - recorders and crumhorns. PLUS we present music by Tristram Cary - the pioneer of British electronic music - who sadly died earlier this year.



Sunday September 14th - Urban Strawberry Lunch

We bring one of Liverpool's famous and unique ensembles to London in Liverpool Capital of Culture Year. Colourscape will be filled with gas pipes, wheel hubs and glass xylophones for an intriguing concert.



Monday Sept 15th to Friday Sept 19th -

Colourscape is reserved for schools workshops

Public openings only at lunchtime 12 to 1pm

Saturday September 20th - "How to Shout and Blow Horns" Alphorns, natural hunting horns and French Horns call out across Colourscape.



Sunday September 21st - Boundless Transformations

The 2008 Rawsthorn Commission Award

Eddy Sayer; Michael Ormiston; Candida Valentino create a new world of gongs, live electronics and "Ccymatic" sound-painting.
